    First Weekend @ Home!

    Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

It’s our first weekend at home with the little guy! He is now a week old and he fits right in. Beth’s last post went into most of it as to what we have been up to this week and how he has been doing. Yesterday, Ella and I went to get the oil changed. It was good to get her out of the house again as she tends to get a bit hyper if we don’t take her out. We killed time by playing with her leapster and reading books that we got from the Library this week. Afterward, the whole clan ventured out to Target because Beth wanted to get out of the house as well. It didn’t dawn on us until we got into Target that we needed to figure out the cart situation now with 3 kids.

Today, we spent the morning cleaning this house. It was good to finally get it all organized again but I’m sure it’s just going to be a mess again by the end of the weekend. Like Beth mentioned, we have Jessi and Candi coming over tomorrow to do a photo shoot with Connor and the girls. We will get Kiley’s 2nd Birthday pics done, Connor’s pics and some of the family! I’m sure they are going to turn out great. I’ve posted some new photos on Flickr from the past few days as well. Check them out now!

Connor and I have spent the past two nights watching guy movies! It’s been so much fun letting him sleep in my arms as I watch District 9 and The Terminator. District 9 isn’t what I expected so it was a decent movie but I wouldn’t watch it again. It did look nice on Blu Ray. The Terminator was a great movie. I don’t remember watching it all the way through when I was younger so it was a good movie to finally see. I’m looking to pick up Terminator 2 to watch tonight or tomorrow night. You could tell it was made in the 80′s but it was still good. 80′s movie music is the best! ha ha.

Check back soon for more updates!

    Quiet Week at Home!

    Thursday, January 21st, 2010

It has been so nice being at home as a family all week! We have really enjoyed spending quality time with all of our kiddos! The girls are having a ball with their baby brother Connor. Ella is such a big helper! She has even been able to hold Connor all by herself with the boppy pillow for support. Kiley is loving on him too. She calls him “my baby bruder.” It is so cute! She has been a little overly emotional about everything. I think that is just her way of dealing with not being the baby anymore. She even climbed in my lap yesterday when Ella was holding Connor and curled up like a baby with a pretend pacifier and a blanket.

We ventured out into the outside world yesterday morning. We managed to get ourselves and all three kids ready and out the door by 10:15. It actually went pretty smoothly. We had Connor’s first Dr. appointment, and everything checked out well. He is now back up to 8 pounds 2 ounces. Almost back to his birth weight already. He eats like a champ!! He is a very healthy little boy!  We are so blessed!!

So far, Connor has been sleeping pretty well. Of course, we battle with the little guy because he wants to be held all of the time. We have started to be able to get him to sleep in the baby papasan chair for a short time during the day, and a very short time at night. We have graduated from sleeping ON US to sleeping in the boppy pillow next to me in bed. This is exactly how Kiley slept for the first 8 weeks. I always said that I would never have my babies sleep in my bed, but all three of them have at some point. I guess you have to do what you have to do to get a little sleep. He actually sleeps for about 2 and a half to 3 and a half hours at a time like this so I can’t complain too much.

Auntie Jill and Jakey came out yesterday afternoon to spend some time with us and to bring us dinner. Jill made yummy chicken tacos and we had a feast for dinner!! It was really fun to see Jakey and all of the new things he is doing this week. He is a wild man! They change so much in just 5 short months.

Matt is going to take Ella to see Alvin and the Chipmunks today. That should be fun for them. Ella needs to get out of the house at least once every day or she gets stir crazy! She is just like me!!

I am sure we will have lots of visitors this weekend. Jessi and Candi are coming out on Sunday so that Jessi can take some pictures of all of the kids for us! We couldn’t be more excited!!!

I can’t believe Connor will be a week old tomorrow already!!! Time just flies by!!

    Welcome Home!

    Monday, January 18th, 2010

Team Saip is home from the hospital! We got home around Noon today and the girls were SO excited to meet their new brother. I took a few videos and a ton of photos. We have had a great afternoon with them and just celebrated Kiley’s 2nd Birthday with a cake.

Connor has been a sweet little guy since coming home. Let’s see how tonight goes! ;)

    Sunday!

    Monday, January 18th, 2010

We just wanted to make a quick video post from Sunday! We had a great day with little man. He didn’t get bugged at all today and was able to sleep. A lot of family and friends came out today and it was good to see everyone.

Grandma Debbie and Grandma Marsha did the kid swap in the hospital parking lot. The girls were sleeping and it was good to see them for a few minutes. Ella convinced Grandma Debbie her coat was reversible and its so not. Ha ha. We were able to iChat with the girls again today. Beth and I even talked to John and Jill for a little bit.

As for Connor, he did have a good day but his eyes are a little swollen. You can’t see it in the professional photos that were taken at the hospital but in my photos you can. The dr said it could be a reaction from the ointment they put on his eyes after he was born. Hopefully, he will wake up tomorrow and they will be better. As I was writing this, Mommy’s milk came in and he wasn’t ready for it while nursing a minute ago. First spit up event!

Check out @Flickr for more photos from today!

    Saturday Night

    Sleepin!

    Sleepin!

Team Saip had a good Saturday Night! Daddy actually got up throughout the night with Mommy and Connor. That will make up for the few times I slept through on Friday Night when Beth needed my help. We did have to have Beth call my cell phone to get me up – Hey if it works it works! Don’t Judge, ha ha!

Connor would get changed, eat and then pass out for a couple hours. So, Beth and I actually got more sleep this way. I even jumped in Beth’s bed with her and was able to get better sleep with the three of us in the bed than on that cot. The nurse was great last night and didn’t get in our way. We aren’t sure why the night time nurse’s are always the best!

I’ve posted more pictures and will be updating them again tonight. I didn’t go as crazy yesterday and today (so far) which isn’t a bad thing. We will get plenty of pictures once we get home and have Auntie Jess come out and take professional photos of him next weekend! We can’t wait!
