Busy Busy

Well, we have done a lot in the past few weeks! Beth turned 30, Ella turned 5 and started kindergarten! We enjoyed ourselves at Dan and Sarah's wedding this past weekend as well! They are off to Aruba and we are jealous! We loved our honeymoon and would do it all over again!

Labor Day Weekend will bring us to St. Louis to visit the family and head to a Cardinals game! Hopefully they will start playing better ball leading up to our game! Check back soon for more updates!

    Up and Ready To Go!

    Thursday, January 28th, 2010

So, the past two days I have tried to get up and get the girls ready for daycare to practice for next week when I go back to work. I haven’t had the best of luck in doing this as we have gotten there by 8:30 and 8:15 the past two days.

So, as I sit here and write this from my phone it seems I will be able to get them there earlier today hopefully by 7:30ish. I just want to make sure that next week I’m able to because the train leaves at 8:03 to get me to work by 9am.

Yesterday, we had a slew of visitors and had a great day. First, Aunt Lori came over and visited for a couple of hours. She brought food as well and it was really good. I love the ranch pasta salad. She got to hold Connor for a good amount of time and he only got fussy once. He’s been really good and was only fussy because he wanted a snack. After Aunt Lori left, Lauren, Sonny, Heather, Ean and Lynda all came over for a few hours. It was a lot of fun hanging out with them.

Sonny was smiling a ton and cooing when he wasn’t eating! Ean got to play on our play mat an even rolled over a few times before getting mad at Ms. Beth (beths knickname at work). He was smiling a ton as well and even fell asleep on Heather as we sat there and talked.

During the visit, Comcast came out to fix our new dvr box we have for our bedroom. The DVR functions weren’t working but now we have a box with HDMI. I had a funny conversation with the guy about tennis while we waited for the menus to test the DVR.

Well, it’s time to run the kids to the sitters. I’ll be posting some photos from yesterday to Flickr. It’s certainly a blast from the past now that friends from birth are having babies!

    Busy Day!

    Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

All is well here in the Saip house hold. Today we had a very busy day of running around, and Connor was a trooper through it all. Matt dropped Ella off at daycare this morning, and boy was she excited to go. She was definitely ready to see all of her friends! Kiley didn’t go until later because we had Dr. appts today for her and Connor. We dropped Gizmo off at the groomer before heading to the Dr.

Both Kiley and Connor checked out well. We saw our favorite Dr. Sommerfeld today. Connor gained 9 ounces in only 6 days. He is now up to 8 pounds 11 ounces. He also grew at least 3/4 of an inch. The nurse had to measure him twice, so I am not sure if either measurement was accurate. We don’t have to go back with him until his 2 month check up. Kiley now weighs 28 pounds and is almost 3 feet tall. She really hasn’t gained much in the last year, but continues to be at about the 75% for both height and weight. They say you double a girl’s height at the age of 2 and that is what they will be as an adult. That is almost 6 feet tall. Matt wasn’t too happy about the thought of Kiley being taller than him.

After the Doctor appointments, we ran a bunch of errands including driving all the way out to McHenry to pick up another DVR cable box so that we could record my shows upstairs, and Matt wouldn’t be stuck watching them. Brat! It will be nice having two boxes though. Connor and I did a little grocery shopping while Matt stayed in the car with a sleeping Kiley. The lady at the checkout thought I was nuts for being out shopping so soon after having a baby. Any of you that know me, however, know that I can’t sit in the house for very long. We ran a few more errands, picked up the dog, and the girls, and very quickly, our first day where it was supposed to be quiet with just Matt, me and Connor. turned into a crazy day of running around. Such is the life around here. Never a dull moment.

Well both girls are sleeping, Connor is sleeping….you would think that Matt and I would be sleeping too, but no. For some reason, no matter what we plan on doing, we don’t go to bed until 11:30 or 12 every night lately. It is going to be very hard to get back into our normal routine.

We are up for visitors if anyone wants to stop by and see Connor as long as you are healthy of course. Tomorrow we have Aunt Lori stopping by in the morning and a visit with Lauren, Linda, and baby Sonny in the afternoon. Can’t wait! Jared might even stop by tomorrow night after work as well. Another fun busy day!!!

    Sunday!

    Monday, January 18th, 2010

We just wanted to make a quick video post from Sunday! We had a great day with little man. He didn’t get bugged at all today and was able to sleep. A lot of family and friends came out today and it was good to see everyone.

Grandma Debbie and Grandma Marsha did the kid swap in the hospital parking lot. The girls were sleeping and it was good to see them for a few minutes. Ella convinced Grandma Debbie her coat was reversible and its so not. Ha ha. We were able to iChat with the girls again today. Beth and I even talked to John and Jill for a little bit.

As for Connor, he did have a good day but his eyes are a little swollen. You can’t see it in the professional photos that were taken at the hospital but in my photos you can. The dr said it could be a reaction from the ointment they put on his eyes after he was born. Hopefully, he will wake up tomorrow and they will be better. As I was writing this, Mommy’s milk came in and he wasn’t ready for it while nursing a minute ago. First spit up event!

Check out @Flickr for more photos from today!

    Day Two!

    Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Just an update from the hospital – Connor is doing great! He didn’t sleep much throughout the night but that’s ok. Mommy did a great job taking care of him and I got a little bit of sleep.

He just got back in the room from becoming a little man (if you get the hint)! He’s being a trooper so far and even got a hearing test and a shot. No screaming so far that is until I just moved his leggers.

Mommy is going to be able to take a shower soon and then I’m going to meet up with the girls for lunch. They sounded like they are having a blast but we still miss them horribly!

A few friends and family will be stopping by this afternoon. It should be a great day her in the hospital and hopefully Connor will just sleep off what he just went through.

During the day, I went and saw the girls with Grandma Debbie. We ate pizza, played at home for a little bit and even got on an iChat with Beth in the hospital. The girls were able to see Mommy and Connor thru the computer. They loved it! We will do another one today so that they feel like they are a part of the experience. I’m sure they will be ready to come home with us on Monday!

Connor did end up doing great yesterday but there were a few rough patches. It seemed like he was in pain around 8pm so we got him some more Tylenol and even gave him some formula. Beth even had a few moments of pain as well but we were able to take care of that with a walk in the hallways and ice packs. We think she might have done a little too much yesterday.

Uncle John, Aunt Jill and Aunt Lissie all stopped by and we had a good time watching football and hanging out. I’ve updated some pictures @Flickr from yesterday! Check back for more updates!!!
