We spent the weekend with Grandpa Lee and Grandma Sue in Door County! It was a great time!
We headed up there Friday afternoon and got into town around 8pm. The kids went to bed shortly after finding all the toys in the house to play with!
Saturday morning, we got a later start because Connor slept in till 10am! That’s a first. We had him in his pack n’ play in a little, almost closet type room, that had to cots for kids in it. With the door closed and lights off, he got some good sleep. We are really going to start looking into darkening shades for his room if that will help keep him asleep longer.
We went to a petting zoo, out to lunch at a microbrewery and went home for an afternoon nap. The kids loved the horses, donkeys and the baby goats! After nap, we shopped a little bit and ordered a pizza from the Wild Tomato! Cool name! We had dinner back at the house and got the kids into bed.
Sunday, we got up and ate breakfast and the place with the Goats on the roof – Al Johnson’s! Unfortunately, the had just put new grass on the roof and we weren’t able to see the goats. We did find out there is a live web cam though (for all of you interested in seeing it)! We then played a round of putt putt with the kids. They had fun and everyone got a couple hole-in-ones! Beth and I them took the girls swimming while Grandpa Lee and Connor napped!
After the fun in the pool, we went out to dinner and ice cream. Not Licked Yet was the name of the ice cream place and it had some good custard! We played on the playground for a bit and headed back home. After the kids were in bed, we watched the NBA finals! Really glad the Mavs won!
On Monday, it was time to head back but not before we drove up further north to get some pies! Bea’s was the name of the shop and we picked up pies, jams, cherries and some candy. Ate lunch on the way back down and it was then time to head home! The kids did great on the way back, picked up gizmo (thanks grandpa mark and grandma marsha for watching him)!
I’m on the train writing this wishing we were still on our mini vacation! Thanks again Dad and Sue for a wonderful time! Pictures coming soon
