Busy Busy

Well, we have done a lot in the past few weeks! Beth turned 30, Ella turned 5 and started kindergarten! We enjoyed ourselves at Dan and Sarah's wedding this past weekend as well! They are off to Aruba and we are jealous! We loved our honeymoon and would do it all over again!

Labor Day Weekend will bring us to St. Louis to visit the family and head to a Cardinals game! Hopefully they will start playing better ball leading up to our game! Check back soon for more updates!

    Sox Win!

    Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

    6/6/10 – White Sox (8) vs. Indians (7)

This past Sunday, we took Jake and Connor to their first Sox Game! It was really for Uncle Donny’s birthday and boy did we all have a good time! The Sox won the game 8-7 and we got a few pics with Connor’s new buddy – Southpaw! We got to the parking lot around 11am after a rough patch in the car with Connor getting hungry all of a sudden. The little brat did it too on the way home! Cooked brats, played bags and enjoyed the beautiful weather! The game was a great one with Konerko hitting a HR right when we got to our seats in the bottom of the first. Quentin won it for us in the bottom of the 7th.

Overall, great game and good times with family and friends! Can’t wait to do it again as I think our next game is at the end of July with the family at a Schaumburg Flyers game. Oh yeah, don’t mind the Cardinals hat in the pics (I need to get a Sox hat).

    Surgery/Mother’s Day

    Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

As most of you know by now, I had to have my gallbladder removed last Friday. I guess it’s an Evenson woman thing since my sister had hers out in February, my mom in late March and now me. Crazy!!! I started having symptoms that Monday and tried to ignore it for a few days. I started having a lot of pain and feeling really sick so decided to just go into the ER to have all of the tests done and see the surgeon right away. Sure enough, the gallbladder needed to be removed. I got to go home that night and come in for out patient surgery the next day.

I seriously thought that this surgery was going to be no big deal since I had just been through a C Section. There was no way it could be anywhere near as bad as that. YEAH RIGHT! Believe it or not, this has been a much more difficult recovery than the C Section in my opinion. I just feel that it is much more painful and difficult to move with having 4 incisions all over my abdomen and having an organ actually removed I guess. I have been home all week from work. Thankfully, our families have helped out a ton with the kiddos. Grandma Debbie picked the girls up from day care on Friday and Connor spent the day with Grandma Marsha, Aunt Jill, and cousin Jakey. My mom, sister, and John helped out on Monday as well here at the house since the kids don’t go to day care on Mondays and Matty had a big presentation at work.

Matt has been SO awesome through this whole ordeal. He has been taking such good care of me, doing everything that needs to be done with the kids, taking care of the house, and having an enormous amount of things going on at work at the same time! We are all SO lucky to have him!!!

On a side note, I had a wonderful Mother’s day! Because I was only 2 days post-op, everyone stopped by here for a little while to hang out with us. We had My parents, John, Jill, and Jakey, Donny, Debbie, and Aunt Lori here with us. It was kind of an improptu little party. It was nice to just visit for a little while before taking a nice afternoon family nap. All in all, it was a great day, and I felt very special. I am so blessed to be the mommy of 3 amazing kids!!

So I have a few more days to recover and then its back to work next week. Let’s see how that goes :)

Also, my parents moved into an awesome new house in Schaumburg last weekend! We are so happy for them. It is such a nice place and I know we will all be gathering there often. We actually already had our first gathering there last night with all of us and Aunt Marsha, Aunt Lora and Grandma. Thanks Mom for a yummy dinner!! It was nice to visit with Auntie Lora one more time before she headed home to Mexico this morning. It is always nice when she comes to visit but that time goes way too fast!

    Sunday!

    Monday, January 18th, 2010

We just wanted to make a quick video post from Sunday! We had a great day with little man. He didn’t get bugged at all today and was able to sleep. A lot of family and friends came out today and it was good to see everyone.

Grandma Debbie and Grandma Marsha did the kid swap in the hospital parking lot. The girls were sleeping and it was good to see them for a few minutes. Ella convinced Grandma Debbie her coat was reversible and its so not. Ha ha. We were able to iChat with the girls again today. Beth and I even talked to John and Jill for a little bit.

As for Connor, he did have a good day but his eyes are a little swollen. You can’t see it in the professional photos that were taken at the hospital but in my photos you can. The dr said it could be a reaction from the ointment they put on his eyes after he was born. Hopefully, he will wake up tomorrow and they will be better. As I was writing this, Mommy’s milk came in and he wasn’t ready for it while nursing a minute ago. First spit up event!

Check out @Flickr for more photos from today!

    Connor’s Birthday!

    Friday, January 15th, 2010

Connor Lee Saip arrived today at 12:46pm. He is 8lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long. We are so blessed to have him here with us now! Thank you to everyone for their help today and this weekend. We are grateful for everyone’s help with Ella and Kiley! It’s strange not having the girls with us this weekend but it’s what we have to do so we will make the best of it.

Beth and baby are doing great right now and he is nursing at the moment. He has also been sleeping in his crib as opposed to on Mommy or me. We want him to be able to sleep in his crib so that we don’t have him in bed with us unless it’s necessary. We learned from Kiley Bug!

It was great to see everyone who made it out today and look forward to seeing more people this weekend! Check out the posted pics here for a glimpse of Connor Lee Saip!
