    Quick Catchup!

    Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

As I mention above, it’s been a very long time since we last posted! That should change moving forward and here is our chance to catch up.

We spent Thanksgiving in St. Louis and had a great time. December went by pretty fast with Gizmo turning 4, I turned 31 and we celebrated Christmas many times during the holiday week. Santa even brought Grandma Debbie a new puppy from Ella’s wish! His name is Dasher and he’s really cute! There is a picture below!

New Years was quiet and January flew by. Connor turned 2 and Kiley turned 4! They are getting so big. That brings us to February where we will pick up!

    Happy Birthday Luke!

We celebrated Luke’s 1st Birthday this week! Ella, Kiley and I met up with everyone on Wednesday night at Red Robin for his Birthday Dinner! It was the first time we got to see Luke walk! Super Cute!

On Saturday, Aunt Lori and Uncle Joe threw a spectacular party for Luke! It was a Cowboy Theme and had great decorations, food, games and sweets! The pictures are up on Flickr! if you want to check them out!

    Happy Birthday Grandma!

    Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

We went to St. Louis over Labor Day weekend to spend time with Grandma for her 80th Birthday! It was a lot of fun and we sure did cram a lot into a quick weekend!

We left Friday around lunch and the trip seemed to take longer than usual for some reason. We still can’t figure out why it took 6 hours but it did. We had dinner at Grandma’s house and stayed with Aunt Teri for the weekend! Saturday, we had a party for Grandma at Aunt Teri’s and had a great time. Grandma was really happy we were all there! She was a little iffy on her gift which was golf lessons but she did enjoy the blown up photo of her playing golf at a Cousin’s reunion, her painting from Aunt Dena, and the other gifts!

We went to the Cardinals game that afternoon and were a little worried about the weather. It was 102 degrees out as we were getting to the game, but a storm came in and it dropped 30 degrees while we were there. So, it became a lot of fun hanging out in the stands (luckily, we were covered from the rain). Cardinals won 6-4!

Connor stayed back with Aunt Teri and slept for 4 hours! Aunt Teri was bummed she didn’t get to play with Connor. We had dinner when we got back and got ready for the next morning.

On Sunday, we went Apple Picking! We had never done that before and it was a lot of fun! Got some great photos of Connor eating an apple in the orchard! Had a family style lunch at a Hotel and headed home. We spent the afternoon hanging out at home with people taking turns seeing movies! Beth and I got to go see Crazy Stupid Love and it was a good choice!

On Monday, it was time to head home. We had breakfast at Grandma’s, packed up, said our goodbye’s and headed home! I’ve posted the pictures here!

    Happy Easter!

    Sunday, April 24th, 2011

Team Saip wants to wish everyone a Happy Easter! We’ve had a great weekend to spend time with family and some nice(r) weather!

Yesterday, we spend the day at Aunt Lori’s for an awesome Easter Egg Hunt! The Easter Bunny was there and so were a ton of kids! Our kids had a great time and had a lot of fun collecting the eggs and hanging out with family! We colored eggs last night and watch the Charlie Brown Easter Beagle special!

Ella and Kiley got up early this morning to see what the Easter Bunny had brought them. Ella got a Cinderalla playset and Kiley got Baby All Gone. She had been asking for a friend for her Baby Alive doll! Connor got a Cardinals Tee, some new sippy cups and a chuck truck playset.

Today, we are headed to Aunt Eve’s for another egg hunt and to spend time with family!

    Check back soon for pictures!

    Heading Home

    Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

After Disneyland on Monday night, we packed up and got ready for our venture home. We had to drop of the rent a car by 8am and were all checked in ready to go by 9ish. Our flight was at 10am and we were ready to come home. It was a great vacation and all we had to do was make the dreaded flight home. Beth and I were both anxious as to how Connor would be considering his flight there!

But… to our surprise… he passed out right as we took off and slept the entire way home! It was a great flight home and boy were we glad to be back! Minus, the weather of course :)

Again, just a quick Thank you! to all involved in making the trip possible. Thanks to Grandma Marsha and Grandpa Mark for watching Gizmo. Dean and Donny for taking us and picking us up from the Airport. All of our family in California for making the visits as fun as they were! And last but not least, Allison and Donnie for being perfect hosts and sharing the vacation with us! It was a blast and something we will never forget!

Please check out flickr! and kodak gallery for our vacation photos!

    We made it!

    Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

It’s late at night, the kids are asleep and we are in California! What a day!

This morning started off great. Got the kids up and ready. Connor took his normal 10-Noon nap. I finished up some last minute work and we were finished loading the car by 11am. Before we left at noon, Beth and I thought we were forgetting stuff because it had all been so smooth.

We left the house at Noon and made a few stops on the way to Grandma Marsha’s house. She was watching Gizmo for the week and Donny was taking us to the airport. We had lunch at their house and then it was off to the airport.

When we arrived at O’hare we found that Jet Blue didn’t offer curb side check in. So, it was fun carrying all that we had to check in. We got there about 2:30ish. The surprising part was checking in and security went super quick and we were at our gate by 3pm. We must have gotten there at the right time because it was like clockwork. The kids were great!

We hung out at the gate for a bit, spent too much money on a dinner/snack for the kids and were boarding by 4:30. That’s when the fun began! Connor did great up until we were taxing on the runway. He just didn’t want to sit still in Beth’s lap. We were so the parents on the plane with the crying baby. He was super tired and just didn’t want to sit still. We tried giving him Benadryl and that didn’t do the trick. He’s just not the type to fall asleep in someones arms anymore. It was akward throughout the flight for us because we felt so bad he was being that way. It was rough for about an hour, hour and a half. Once he was walking the aisle, sitting in his own seat or playing on the floor in front of the girls seats he was fine.

The girls had a fun time on the plane you could tell at points they were bored but they did well. Needless to say, we were ALL glad it was over when we landed. We landed about 7:30 local time at Long Beach Airport. This was probably the smallest airport I had been to. We got off the plane outside, walked down a few ramps into the terminal, followed a few more ramps to baggage claim and walked across the street (literally) to the rent a car place. We hopped in our mini-van (insert soccer dad joke here) and were off to our hotel.

I want to say within 10 minutes of driving all three kids were passed out. We checked in to the hotel and everyone is asleep except me! It’s my time to retire so I’ll pick up tomorrow with this! Good night!
